Welcome to Jukamatrips

Discover the Maldives with us

Do you dream of traveling to paradise without spending a fortune? We make it happen. Let's plan your next trip together.

Discover the ‘other’ side of the Maldives. Get to know the country, the people and the culture. The Maldives are not just resorts, they are so much more!

In February 2025, we visited Dhiffushi, a local island in the Maldives, for the first time. We instantly fell in love with the country and its people, and during that week on Dhiffushi, we had never felt so free—it was the perfect vacation.

We stayed in a local guesthouse, and the boys (as we called them)—the tour guides who organized various excursions from the hotel—picked us up and took us to our accommodation. We hit it off with them straight away, and we have to say, they made our trip absolutely perfect. Almost every day, we were out on their boat, experiencing the most incredible adventures: We snorkeled with turtles, swam with sharks, visited a deserted island, spotted manta rays and dolphins, explored sandbanks, and even spent a day at a resort.

The island

Dhiffushi is a small local island, just a 45-minute speedboat ride from Malé Airport. Since the Maldives is a Muslim country, there are a few things to keep in mind when visiting Dhiffushi:

  • You shouldn't walk around the island in a bikini or skimpy clothing (although a top and shorts are OK). You can of course wear a bikini on the bikini beaches.

  • Alcohol is generally forbidden and you cannot buy alcohol. However, there are so-called floating bars where you can consume alcohol. These are boats that are located very close to the island and will pick you up and bring you back to the island for $45. The price also includes 2 drinks.

Additionally, Dhiffushi has three spacious bikini beaches, meaning there are very few areas on the island where bikinis are not allowed.

Since we felt so welcome on the island and truly connected with the locals, we started this project to share our experience. Local islands are still relatively undiscovered compared to the luxury resorts, and we want to give everyone the chance to enjoy the dream vacation we had.
